Offshoot Productions artistic director, Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D. presents “Stars on Stage!” through the Tyrone Recreation Department this fall. The class is designed for children in grades two through five. The class meets 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, October 27 through December 1, and costs $55. There will be no class on November 24.
Steadman has been teaching, coaching and directing for over thirty-five years, and the challenge still hasn’t lost its gravitational pull. “Whether I’m working with professional, adult actors or eight-year-old newcomers to the stage, I consider each situation a chance to help performers grow,” she said. She has taught acting and directing at universities, private schools, theatre companies, conferences, community theatres and recreation departments. A produced playwright and author of works on theatrical practice and literature, she holds a Ph.D. in theatre from Louisiana State University and an M.A. in educational theatre from New York University.
