Community Picnic This Weekend

Food Lion and the City of Grantville will host the Georgia Cities Week Community Picnic in Colley Park at Noon on Saturday, April 25.

While the picnic is most specifically for residents of Grantville, anyone who considers themselves part of our western Georgia community is encouraged to come out and enjoy a spring day with neighbors and friends.

Colley Park is in downtown Grantville. Picnic tables will be provided...you are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets! The freight depot will be open during the picnic to provided restrooms (and an indoor location in the event of rain.) The picnic will last until 2 pm or until all the hotdogs are gone, whichever comes first!

Thank you, Food Lion for donating the food and City of Grantville employees Ron Owen and Joe Jones for volunteering to man the grill!!

$2 for hotdog, chips and a soft drink.
All proceeds above cost of soft drinks will be donated to Grantville Food Bank.

  • Late entries for the Mayor's Coloring Contest will be accepted.
  • Non-perishable food items will be collected for Grantville Food Bank
  • Hidden History Scavenger Hunt sponsored by Grantville's Hidden Treasures
  • Family Photographs, clippings and memorabilia will be collected for a Grantville Scrapbook (originals will be returned)
  • Find out about plans for a Grantville Homecoming Event in 2010.
  • Visit with Food Lion representatives to hear more about the store coming to Grantville.
Nearby Activities:
  • First Anniversary Celebration and Grantville Corner Market Community Rummage Sale at Grantville's Hidden Treasures and adjacent properties. Additional sellers are welcome - please stop by Hidden Treasures between 8 and 9 for a 'booth assignment'.
  • Shaye's House of Beauty and New Image Salon will be open all day Saturday.
  • Relay-for-Life Yard Sale at Brash Park Subdivision
  • Ball games through mid-day at Grantville-Coweta Park Complex
